A mid 19th century gold garnet and enamel brooch. The oval-shape foil-back garnet, within a foliate enamel panel, to the openwork garnet and enamel scrolling border. Length 5.1cms. Weight 13.6gms.
Overall condition fair. Surface wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear. Areas of localised discolouration to the reverse. Areas of the openwork border are visibly crack to the reverse. Garnets medium red and purple. Stones in good condition with minor abrasions. Fitted with a safety chain which needs repairing.
