A mid 19th century gold, garnet and diamond brooch, retailed by Tessier. The fancy-shape garnet oval-shape wreath, with diamond point foliate spacers and inner ring. Length 3cms. Weight 5.1gms. With fitted Tessier case.
Overall condition good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Replacement clasp. Diamonds well matched. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Garnets are a medium purplish red hue, with good clarity and typical inclusions. Stones in fair condition with moderate to significant abrasions, one with relatively shallow chip to the reverse. Case shows slight wear, discolouration to the base.
