A mid 19th century gold foil-back emerald and diamond brooch. The openwork design with cannetille highlights, to the rectangular-shape emerald and old-cut diamond sides, suspended from a rope-twist chain. Estimated total diamond weight 0.30ct. Length 10cms. Weight 29.8cms. With fitted case.
Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear. Diamond fairly well matched. Diamonds fairly bright. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Emeralds medium green, fariy well saturated and typical inclusions. Stones in poor condition with significant abrasion, chips and nibbles to the girdle and facet edges. due to setting, we are unable to determine colourm clarity and carat weight.
