A mid 19th century gold, enamel and split pearl brooch. The ceramic disc painted to depict a woman in three-quarter profile, with split pearl surround, to the split pearl and diamond floral accent and enamel openwork sides. Length 5.1cms. Weight 18.3gms. With associated case.
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. li>Central section should open, with hinge to one side, clasp section appears deficient, possibly soft soldered closed. Diamonds well matched. Estimated total diamond weight under 0.10ct. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
