A mid 19th century gold amethyst brooch and a pair of ear pendants. The brooch designed as an oval-shape amethyst within a scrolling floral surround, the ear pendants each designed as an oval-shape amethyst within a cannetille and bead surround, suspended from a similarly-set surmount. Length of brooch 4.6cms. Length of ear pendants 4.3 and 4.7cms. Total weight 25.3gms.
Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear. Brooch and earrings do not match in design. Brooch with wear and small repairs to the mount. Replacement base metal clasp. All gems believed replacement. Earrings show soft solder, small repairs and replacement sections. Smaller amethyst to earrings in closed back settings, presumed foil back. Amethyst well matched with deep medium slightly pinkish purple hue, well saturated. With mostly good clarity and typical inclusions, one of the larger gems to an earring with eye visible inclusions. Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.
