A mid 19th century diamond and garnet foliate brooch. Designed as a series of scrolling leaves, suspending a cascade of stylised garnet and diamond buds. Estimated total diamond weight 0.45ct. Length 7.5cms. Weight 13.5gms. With fitted case.
Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches in keeping with general wear. Personal inscription to the reverse '31 July 1851'. Garnets medium purple, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions. Stones in good condition with minor abrasions. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers for coloured gemstones.
