A mid 19th century 18ct gold multi-gem dog brooch. The textured dog, with turquoise body, ruby and diamond collar and ruby eyes, suspending a garnet drop. Length 3.3cms. Weight 7.7gms.
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Scratches and areas of discolouration to the brooch in places. There is an area of significant abrasion to the garnet. The rubies are well matched, with typical inclusions visible with magnification. Possible replacememt turquoise, some gapping to the edging. Estimated total diamond weight under 0.10ct. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
