A late Victorian silver twin-handled trophy, lobed and beaded decoration to the lower body with foliate scroll borders, vacant cartouche and presentation engraving to one side, raised on a circular footed base with reeded rim. Hallmarked London 1900, maker's mark worn. Height to handles measures 10 3/8 inches (26.5 cm), weight 20.78 ozt (646 grams).'Glamorgan Imperial Yeomanry for Best Horse in Regiment given by Lt. Col. Wyndham Quin. Won by Modesty Owner, Trooper H. D. Thomas, Margam 1902'.
The trophy displays general wear, surface scratches, and marks commensurate with the age and use. Very heavy staining to interior and further patches of heavier tarnishing to exterior and it would benefit from a clean and polish. Minor dints. The hallmarks appear rubbed but legible, maker's mark worn and illegible.
