A late Victorian silver twin-handled trophy cup of baluster form and decorated with lobed borders and scrolling foliage surrounding an oval cartouche engraved with winner's names, hallmarked William Aitken, Birmingham 1899, height to handles measuring 8 1/4 inches (21 cm). Together with a further late Victorian trophy of goblet form with lobed and beaded borders, hallmarked James Dixon & Sons Ltd., Sheffield 1894, height measuring 6 5/8 inches (17 cm). Weight 15.18 ozt (472.2 grams). (2).
Both trophies display general wear, surface scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Also some small dints and knocks. Both would benefit from a clean and polish. Both appear to lean very slightly. The hallmarks and maker's marks appear a little rubbed but all still legible.
