A late Victorian silver three piece tea service, comprising teapot, twin-handled sugar bowl and cream jug, each of bulbous oval form with gadrooned rim and lobed and fluted detail, angular handles and each raised on four bun feet, ivory insulators and finial to the teapot. Hallmarked George Nathan & Ridley Hayes, Chester 1899. Maximum teapot length measures 11 inches (28 cm), gross weight 27.9 ozt (868 grams).
All three pieces display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some minor dints and bumps. Some visible seam lines. Hinged lid of teapot appears in good working order, finial is a little loose. The teapot wobbles very slightly. No personal engravings. The hallmarks appear rubbed in places but are still legible. Part hallmarks to teapot lid and handle.
