A late Victorian silver mustard pot of plain cylindrical form having beaded rims, a simple scroll handle, a domed, hinged lid and glass liner, hallmarked Horace Woodward & Co Ltd., London 1896. Together with a later mustard pot, also of cylindrical outline with a blue glass liner, hallmarked Daniel & Arter, Birmingham 1927. Silver weight 7.63 ozt (237 grams). (2).
Both mustard pots display some general wear, surface scratches, marks and tarnishing in keeping with the age and use. A few minor dints and heavier scratches and marks to some areas. Hinged lids appears in working order although the hinge pin is sticking out on the Victorian example. Some rubbing and loss of definition to beaded rims. A quite large rim chip to frosted glass liner. The hallmarks on the later mustard are clear and legible. The hallmarks and maker's mark on the Victorian mustard appear a little rubbed but still legible.
