A late Victorian silver matched set of five pierced dishes with blue glass liners, comprising one large dish and four smaller dishes, each of lobed oval form to a pedestal foot and having an applied floral scroll rim above oval and diamond pierced sides with embossed floral swags. Hallmarked London 1898 and 1899, maker's marks for C F Hancock & Co., Daniel & John Wellby and Charles Stuart Harris. Maximum length of large dish measures 11 ? inches (28.5 cm), length of smaller dishes measures 5 ? inches (13.5 cm), weight 43.21 ozt (1344 grams).
All the pieces display some general wear, surface marks, scratches and tarnishing in keeping with the age and use. Minor dints. Remnants of polish. A couple of the smaller dishes are a little compressed around the short stem to the foot. Some rubbing and distortion to maker's marks and hallmarks but mostly legible. Three different maker's marks. Rim chips to glass liners.
