A late Victorian gold Scottish gem-set brooch. Of circular outline, the three yellow and three purple pastes to the outer border, to the central claw-set orange paste, with personal inscription to the reverse. Length 4.7cms. Weight 25gms.
This lot is in good condition, with light scratches to the metal in keeping with age and wear. Can also be worn as a pendant, the surmount loop is located to the reverse and is slightly bent, pulling the back of the brooch slightly away from the edge. The personal inscription reads 'T. Proudfoot to Mrs Dobbie 1st June 1870'.
