A late Victorian gold enamel pearl and diamond communion brooch. Of oval outline, the central blue guilloche enamel panel with applied diamond-set letter N, to the cultured pearl and enamel flower surround, and to the reverse an enamel panel depicting Jesus, with an inscription to the surround. Length 3.2cms. Weight 14.1gms.
This lot is in fair condition, with scratches, dints and tarnish to the metal surface in keeping with age and wear. Enamel has area deficient approximately 0.8 by 0.2cms, remainder is scratched to surface in keeping with age and wear. Inscription reads 'Souvenir 1st communion Norah Berthoud 1st May 1897'.
