A late Victorian 18ct gold memorial ring. Designed as a scrolling black enamel ribbon-shape with 'In memory of' to the split pearls set top and bottom, recessed panels of woven hair to each shoulder and a vacant recess to the back of the band. Hallmark for Chester, date worn. Ring size P. Weight 2.5gms.
This lot is in fair to poor condition, with scratches, dints and tarnish to the metal surface in keeping with age and wear. The recessed panel to the back would have contained further woven hair, but is now vacant. The ring has been resized and there are two resizing lines visible to the interior and exterior. Enamel chipped and worn throughout.
