A late Victorian 15ct gold topaz and split pearl brooch. The pink topaz and split pearl star, to the rope-twist surround, with scalloped sides. Victorian registration kite mark to reverse. Length 4.5cms. Weight 13.2gms.
Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches in keeping with general wear, some small very shallow dents in places. Base metal replacement pin. Pink topaz light to medium pink, well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions. Pink topaz in poor condition with a large chip to the top. Split pearls fairly well matched. Split pearls white to slightly creamy-white, with pink and green overtones showing good to fair lustre. Yellowing adhesive can be seen to most split pearls.
