A late Victorian 12ct gold diamond convertible pendant brooch, circa 1880. The circular-cut diamond collet, within a similarly-cut diamond double halo surround, to the detachable old-cut diamond line surmount and later platinum chain. Principal diamond estimated weight 1ct. Estimated total diamond weight 5cts, I-K colour, SI1-P1 clarity. Length of brooch 2.8cms. Length of chain 41cms. Total weight 10gms. With fitted case.
Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches in keeping with general age and wear. The front settings of the piece is 9t gold and the reverse is 12ct. Principal diamond has a fine surface reaching fracture under the table facet. Silver has areas of discolouration, typical of age. The diamonds are bright, with small light and dark inclusions, some visible without magnification.
