BID ON THE-SALEROOM
A late Georgian silver and 9ct gold diamond and enamel mourning brooch, circa 1810. Of marquise outline, the miniature portrait depicting a women in period dress, within a blue enamel surround with rose-cut diamond highlights, to the rose-cut diamond border. One diamond deficient. May be worn as a pendant. Length 5cms. Weight 9.8gms. With fitted case.
Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear. One diamond deficient Diamond fairly well matched. Diamonds fairly bright. Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents total carat weight estimation. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate color and clarity assessment. clear glass class of portrait, has scratches to surface miniature portrait has faded enamel has minor chips and nibbles to surface.
