A late 19th century vermeil imitation pearl hair ornament. Designed as an imitation pearl fringe, to the foliate surmount and comb, together with additional comb fitting. Some imitation pearls deficient. French marks. Length 17cms. With fitted case.
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Some hair combs are slightly bent out of shape. Many of the imitation pearls are missing. Approximately 12 imitation pearls are missing. Several are cracked and damaged. Three of the larger imitation pearls are missing. The fringe is fragile and is difficult to fit to the two hair combs. Scuffs to surface of case. Initials to case are M. R. Total weight of comb and hair piece 121gms.
