A late 19th century ruby, seed pearl and diamond brooch. The circular-shape ruby diagonal line, to the old-cut diamond scrolling sides with seed pearl highlights and circular-shape ruby terminals. Estimated total diamond weight 0.15ct. Length 4.6cms. Weight 3.6gms.
Overall condition fair. Surface scratches, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear. Diamonds fairly bright. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Rubies medium pinkish-red, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions. Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges. Seed pearls untested for natural colour origin.
