Of bi-colour design, the alternating oval-shape ruby and old-cut diamond grip, to the plain scabbard with rose-cut diamond bands and chape. Estimated old-cut diamond weight 0.20ct, H-I colour, SI clarity. Length 8.2cms. Weight 12.7gms.
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Cross guard section appears deficient, small raised post at the end of the grip. Some replacement gems. Diamonds well matched. Individual size and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Rubies are a medium pinkish red through medium deep red, varied saturation, with fair to good clarity and typical inclusions. Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.
