A late 19th century onyx pietra dura gold and split pearl brooch. Designed as a rectangular block of onyx, with a raised rectangular pietra dura panel to the centre depicting a lily, with seed pearls surrounding, to the recessed glazed panel to the reverse. Length 3.7cms. Weight 24.1gms.
This lot is in good condition, with light scratches to the metal in keeping with age and wear. There is a small chip to the top right corner of the main oxyx, approximately 2mm square. Area of dirt, possibly dried adhesive to the reverse.
