A late 19th century gold turquoise and diamond hinged bangle. The rose-cut diamond star and circular turquoise cabochon domed panel, within a rope-twist surround, to the engraved sides and similarly designed hinged bangle. Inner diameter 5.5cms. Weight 35.7gms.
Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches and minor discolouration in keeping with general wear. The bangle appears to have been put together from various late 19th century components. Safety chain broken. Evidence of alteration. Turquoise vary in colour and saturation. Turquoise bright medium greenish-blue to medium blue, well saturated, with good to fair clarity and typical dark inclusions seen to the surface of some. Turquoise in good condition with some minor abrasion. Cut and setting of rose-cut diamond prevents carat weight estimation. Diamond bright and lively. Light and dark coloured inclusions can be seen with magnification. Diamond in good condition with minor abrasions.
