A late 19th century gold split pearl mourning brooch. The heart-shape panel enclosing coiled hair, within a split pearl surround, to the similarly-set trefoil crown. Two split pearls deficient. Length 3.5cms. Weight 8.4gms.
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. The split pearls are replacements. The back panel is a possible replacement. Split pearls with white body colour and fair lustre. Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.
