A late 19th century gold, enamel and gem-set brooch. The faceted rock crystal stylised heart locket, hinged to the reverse, within a polychorme enamel bow and laurel garland surround with dove, floral and diamond accents. Length 2.9cms. Weight 5gms.
Overall condition good to fair. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear. Cleaned to a high finish. The gold to the locket mount is a different colour to that of the surround. Clasp possible replacement/alteration to the fittings. Diamonds moderately well matched. Estimated total diamond weight under 0.10ct. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Diamonds to the bow surmount possible replacements, one appears abraded or with glue to surface, the larger with noticeable chips. Enamel in very good condition. Engraving to the reverse.
