A late 19th century gold amethyst and garnet brooch. The rectangular-shape foil-back amethyst, within a foil-back circular-shape garnet surround. Length 2.5cms. Weight 6gms.
Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear. Replacement catch and visible soft solder. Deterioration visible to the foil backing of the amethyst. Amethyst pale purple, with a weak saturation of colour. Garnets fairly well matched with typical inclusions visible with the unaided eye. Scratches visible to the facet edges of the amethyst. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers for coloured gemstones.
