A late 19th century gold amethyst and garnet brooch. The rectangular-shape foil-back amethyst, within a foil-back circular-shape garnet surround. Length 2.5cms. Weight 6gms.
Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear. Replacement catch and visible soft solder. Deterioration visible to the foil backing of the amethyst. Amethyst pale purple, with a weak saturation of colour. Garnets fairly well matched with typical inclusions visible with the unaided eye.
