BID ON THE-SALEROOM
A late 19th century garnet and paste brooch. The vari-shape openwork garnet and paste brooch. One replacement garnet. Length 3.9cms. Weight 9.7gms.
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. One replacement garnet cabochon. Soft solder alteration and repairs visible to the reverse. Garnets and red paste well matched for colour, slightly purplish-red, well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions. Stones in good to fair condition with minor abrasions, some have more moderate abrasions, with nibbles and small chips. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers for coloured gemstones.
