A late 19th century diamond sapphire and enamel fob watch. The circular-shape Roman numeral dial, to the blue guilloche enamel reverse, with a removable circular-shape sapphire and rose-cut diamond highlight cover. Diameter of case and cover 2.8cms. Total weight 23.2gms.
Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches and minor discolouration in keeping with general wear. Sapphires well matched. Sapphires dark blue, well saturated, with poor clarity and profuse typical inclusions. Sapphires in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges. Diamonds well matched. Diamonds bright and lively. Light and dark coloured inclusions can be seen with magnification. Diamonds in good condition with minor abrasions. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate and full colour and clarity assessment. Watch ticks when wound. Watch currently not working when wound.
