A late 19th century 18ct gold ruby and diamond hinged bangle. The front designed as a graduated oval-shape ruby and rose-cut diamond horseshoe, to the alternating oval-shape ruby and old-cut diamond sides. Accompanied by report number 20026423, dated 20th November 2015, stating the largest central ruby, measuring 4 by 3.3 by 2.65mms is Natural Burmese origin and no evidence of treatment observed. Estimated total diamond weight 0.55ct. Horseshoe is removable. Inner diameter 5.6cms. Weight 18.7gms.
Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear. Please refer to gemstone report for further details. The horseshoe front is removable, with a screw back fitting to reverse. Diamond fairly well matched. Diamonds fairly bright. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Rubies medium to strong red to purplish red, fairly well saturated, with good to moderate clarity and typical inclusions.
