A late 19th century 18ct gold enamel and paste brooch. Designed as a series of partially scroll engraved loops, with overlaid blue enamel, oval-shape pink paste and cultured pearl highlights. Length 4.8cms. Weight 11.9gms.
Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear. Damage to several areas of enamel. Soft solder visible to several areas where the brooch has been repaired/altered. Brooch fitting appears to have been added/replaced at a later date. Gas bubbles and conchoidal fractures visible to pink paste. One pink paste is circular in shape and does not match. The cultured pearls are drill beads and have been added at a later date.
