A late 19th century 15ct gold ruby and diamond brooch. The oval-shape ruby, within a curved panel, to the old-cut diamond foliate sides and asymmetric double bar. Estimated total diamond weight 0.10ct. Length 5.2cms. Weight 4.8gms.
Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear. Ruby fairly bright medium red, well saturated, with good clarity and some small typical inclusions, which can be under magnification. Diamonds well matched. Diamonds bright. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Stones in good condition with minor abrasions. Stamped 15ct.
