A George III silver desk stand of oblong form, having a gadroon rim with foliate shell borders and raised on four paw feet, the centre fitted with three silver mounts for glass ink bottles and flanked by two pen trays, personal presentation engraving to one tray and to the base. Hallmarked Joseph Craddock & William Ker Reid, London 1814. Length measures 9 inches (22.8 cm), gross weight 20.35 ozt (633 grams).
The stand displays general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use. Some quite heavy tarnishing is visible and it would benefit from a clean and polish. Some small dints and bumps. Missing the glass bottles but the three mounts all bear matching part hallmarks to the main stand. The hallmarks are mainly clear and legible, some of the maker's mark are a little worn or distorted.
