A George III Scottish enamel memorial ring. The octagonal blue and white enamel border with floral motifs and old-cut diamonds to the painted panel depicting an image of John Wetherall who was the Shire Commissioner for Dumfriesshire and a baronet in the early 18th century. Weight 5.4gms. With associated box.
The overall condition of this lot is good to fair. The metal has light surface scratches in keeping with age and wear. The glazed panel is lightly scratched and chipped. Light chips and wear to the enamel and small areas of enamel deficient in particular to two corners in areas of approx 2mm each. Inscription reads 'John Wetherall Obt 12 Oct 1795 At 71. ' In box labelled for Jewellers and Silversmiths Company, Guildford.
