A George III matched set of four silver pedestal open salts of hemispherical form with gadrooned borders and rim, two crested. Hallmarked London 1800 and 1805. Height measuring 2 1/4 inches (6 cm), gross weight 13.5 ozt (422 grams).
The lot displays general scratches, marks wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Possibly two pairs of salts, one pair with the maker's mark ?? IG, maker's mark to the other pair is indistinct, hallmarks clear and legible. Minor dents.
