A George II silver tea caddy, the tapered body with bulbous shoulders, embossed and chased with a pastoral scene with birds and insects in flight. Hallmarked London 1752. Height measuring 4 3/4 inches (12 cm), weight 2.9 ozt (93 grams).
The lot displays general scratches, marks wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Minor dents. Vacant cartouche. The hallmarks are clear and legible. Maker's mark partly distorted possibly WM.
