A gem-set elephant pendant. Designed with a central elephant figure set with a mother-of-pearl panel with further circular and oval-shape collet-set purple gems and mother-of-pearl panels and white and purple enamel detail. Length 5.2cms.
Overall fair condition, with moderate surface scratches and heavy tarnishing throughout. The mother-of-pearl panel to the elephant has dried adhesive around the edges. The piece would benefit from a clean. There are small purple enamel sections that are chipped. The piece looks to have have been gilded and the majority has rubbed off. The purple gems are a mixture of stones, there are two garnet topped doublets, purple pastes and an amethyst.
