A garnet fringe necklace. Designed as a series of five suspended oval-shape garnet collet drops, to the similarly designed chain. Length 40cms. Weight 32.8gms.
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Scratches and areas of discolouration to the collets, they don't all appear to match and have possibly been put together. There is an overlapped section to the back of one collet. Garnets medium dark reddish brown, fairly well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions, many visible with the unaided eye. Garnets vary in colour. Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges. Chips visible to some garnets. There is an extra link to the clasp, so it does not lie flat.
