- Lot Description
BID ON THE-SALEROOM
A garnet buckle pendant. The foliate engraved curving belt and buckle motif, with oval and circular-shape garnet highlights, suspended from a trace-link chain. Length of pendant 3cms. Length of chain 42cms. Weight 6.4gms.
Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear. Buckle was part of a larger items of jewellery and has been later adapted into a pendant. Garnets well matched with medium purplish red, fairly well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions. Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers for coloured gemstones.
