BID ON THE-SALEROOM
A diamond and amethyst brooch. The rope-twist and plain wire foliate panel, with old and rose-cut diamond accents, suspending a pear-shape amethyst and diamond point stylised thistle flower head. Estimated total diamond weight 1ct. Length 5.6cms. Weight 18.9gms.
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Possible replacement gems. Wear to some mounts. Diamonds vary significantly in colour and clarity. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Amethyst is a deep medium purple hue, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions. Stones in good condition with minor abrasions. Foreign marks to pin, possibly French.
