A 19th century canton carved ivory and feather fan with hand painted detail. The peacock and white feather leaf, featuring a delicately hand-painted bird and flower scene, finely pierced sticks and ornately carved ivory guards depicting detailed oriental scenes.
The fan is in a very good condition for its age, however the string which holds the feather leaf together has broken at one point leaving four of the feathers split away from the others. The ivory sticks and guards are in a good undamaged condition. Slight discoloration to the fan throughout. Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
