- Lot Description
Over ¾" width, made by the open-face mold technique. Silvered bronze of natural form, slightly cusped top and pointed bottom, nubs at the bottom quarter points. Plain flat field suggesting provincial or colonial manufacture, perhaps Iceland. For Vikings, the heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, and integrity, attributes of the warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Professionally refurbished with the pure silver surface restored on aa 18" Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with certification of authenticity.
