- Lot Description
Third century AD to the fall of the Roman Empire. See Ancient Rings, Pollio, p.75, bottom. Bronze, originally plated and offered here as found with good dark patina. The bezel with quartered bands of triple cuts. 2.1mm rounded face band flared to the shoulders. While rings of this type are generally described as Legionaries rings, not all historians agree with that attribution. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
