Size 4 3/4 with ridged face band, 1.2mm, flaring to the shoulders. The raised bezel of the "squinting eye" form symbolizes the Evil Eye. Roman Pagan religion taught that evil could be bestowed by a malevolent gaze. Protection against such misfortune took the form of amulets, talismans, and rings of which this is one. It is estimated that 40% of the world's population still embraces the concept of the Evil Eye in some form. This ring is professionally refurbished with 24karat gold restored.
