• Lot Description
  Slightly over 1 1/4" height plus the suspension loop. Bronze, cast, and chased as the crescent moon. Viking worship involved the heavenly bodies on which they relied for guidance when sailing. Above, a cone, perhaps an anatomical reference. The base with a raised ring supporting five triangles of nub clusters. The front and back with horizontal cuts, probably as part of the funerary ritual. Some wear from use. The pure silver overlay restored and mounted on an 18" modern gilt neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
