Cinema - Large metal & glass architectural feature with central amber glass section depicting an Art Deco Fountain, removed from the foyer & box office area of the Leyton Baths, Circa 1932. 208cm x 204cm.Provenance: The cinema architect designed the interior with spectacular Art Deco Fixtures & Fittings. Leyton Baths doubled as a Theatre, with a large permanent stage at one end. The entire swimming pool area was boarded over for dancing or seating. The venue was hugely popular in the 1960's with Gene Vincent, The Small Faces, The Kinks, The Rolling Stones & The Beatles all appearing here. The Leyton Baths were demolished in 1992 and this was saved from destruction.
