Property from a Private Collection, Savannah, GA
Description:
Two John Abbot (UK/Georgia, 1751 - 1840), Hand Colored Engravings, from The Natural History of the Rarer Lepidopterous Insects of Georgia, Plate 47 depicting the 'Phalaena Polyphemus' and 'Quercus Lobulata,' the other Plate 49 depicting the 'Phalaena Io' and 'Zea Mays,' both with text pages from the volume in pocket on verso of frame, both matted and in giltwood frames. Frame size: 25 in. x 21 1/2 in.Measurements: Height: by sight 14 1/2 in. x Width: 11 1/2 in.
Condition:
Overall good condition, paper toned and with some foxing, some creases around corners, not viewed out of frames.
