Property from the Estate of a Former General Electric International Executive, Hilton Head Island, SC
Description:
Two Chinese Blue and White Ginger Jars, 18th Century, comprising an associated pair of blue and white ginger jars with wood lids and stands, both marked with blue circle on undersides. Size of smaller jar: 6 5/8 in. x 5 3/4 in. Provenance: Allan Janny Co. Ltd., June 11, 1989. This item appears on a Sotheby’s 1997 insurance appraisal valued at $1,500.Measurements: Height: of larger jar 7 in. x Width: 6 in.
Condition:
Overall good condition, both jars with glaze blemishes and craquelure, the larger jar with chips to edges of rim, and two hairline cracks to rim, star form crack to body visible on interior only, and firing crack in interior, the smaller jar with small frits top tom rim and bottom edge, small firing crack on base.
