Description:
Rare Lithograph After J. W. Hill, Savannah, GA, 1855, lithograph by Charles Parsons (1821-1910) Printed by Endicott & Co. N.Y. after a drawing by John William Hill, showing Robert Launitz's Pulaski monument in Monterey Square and the surrounding area, sheet size: 26 1/2 in. x 38 3/4 in., with label from The National Portrait Gallery exhibition 'John Frazee, Sculptor, 1790-1852' April 25 to Aug. 24, 1986, and at the Boston Athenaeum, Oct. 9 to Dec. 18, 1986 (note: Launitz was a contemporary of Frazee).
Based on our research this is an extremely rare lithograph with one other known in a Savannah private collection and one in the I.N. Phelps Stokes Collection, The New York Public Library that was donated to them in 1930.Measurements: Height: print size 24 1/2 in. x Width: 37 in.
Good unrestored condition, waviness to paper, repaired tear upper left, paper yellowed, foxing, crease to upper left sky, light mat burn, the mat currently covering the far right and left sides of the image.Condition
