Description:
French School, Street Scene with Figures, Oil on Canvas, 1868, signed 'B. Layelle' and dated 1868 lower right, depicting a French street scene with wounded soldiers seeking help, in a giltwood frame. Frame size: 27 1/2 in. x 32 in.Measurements: Height: by sight 20 in. x Width: 24 3/8 in.
Condition:
Overall good restored condition, craquelure throughout, possible repaired tears in center of canvas above children, small losses to paint in upper portion of 'Boucherie' building with inpainting, loss to paint in central figures shoe, wear and minor losses to paint along edges, with obscuring varnish.
