Description:
Chippendale Maple Chest on Chest, c. 1760, in two parts, the concave cornice above a shell carved top drawer flanked by false short drawers over eight long drawers and raised on bracket feet.Measurements: Height: 77 5/8 in. x Width: 41 1/2 in. x Depth: 19 3/4 in.
Condition:
Overall good condition, old marks and scratches, wear to edges, previously cleaned, brasses appear to be original, drawers to lower section fitted with locks, top drawer with losses and restorations to molding flanking shell carving, areas surrounding brasses worn, bottom drawer and plinth with drips to finish, scuffs to feet, chips and scuffs to waist molding.
